Recognizing the Best in Our Sector

           

To recognize and celebrate the contributions towards overall excellence in the field of live presentation and touring in the province of Ontario made by presenters, artists and managers.

 

Nomination Process:

  • Nomination form completed and submitted to Cheryl Ewing, Event Manager
  • Nominated and seconded by two (individuals, companies or organizations)
  • Supporting materials (testimonials, press coverage, samples) to accompany the nomination

Selection Process:

Selection Committee is composed of representative from the sectors of presenters, artists and managers/agents will review nominations and make selections based on materials submitted. Not all awards will be awarded annually.

Categories:             

    • Award of Excellence
    • Presenter / Agent-Manager / Performer (Company) of the Year
    • Emerging artist, presenter, agent or manager

Qualifications:

  • Participated in or attended a recent Contact
  • Been actively operating in Ontario in the past year
  • Demonstrated levels of professionalism, commitment to sustaining the presenting community and support by their peers, clients and audiences
  • Some sense of legacy – impact has been over time, rather than just bursting on the scene

COMPANION PROGRAM

The Ontario Contact Steering Committee has designed a three day package for those interested in joining you at the Cottage!

They have the option of choosing any combination of the following activities. Please note that all prices are subject to HST.

Ontario Contact will provide all participants with access to the showcases.

Thursday, October 28

11:30 am

  • Meet at the Stockey Centre for an escorted walk to the CP Station for a watercolour workshop. Lunch and afternoon coffee break included

3:00pm

  • Escorted walk back to the Stockey Centre. Companions are free to do whatever they like

Cost:  $65.00

 

Friday, October 29

10:30am

  • Meet at Stockey Centre for a bus ride to the Bala Cranberry Marsh for a “Bog to Bottle” tour. Bring some cash so you can purchase your lunch from a local restaurant.  Make sure you wear appropriate clothing for a farm tour!

2:30pm

  • Arrive back at the Stockey Centre for free time

Cost: $50.00

 

Saturday, October 30

6:00pm

  • Gala Dinner at the Stockey Centre with delegates. This dinner is a Halloween Theme – come dressed as your favourite Artist!

Cost: $56.50

Three Days Package: $171.50

BOOTH VIDEOS

GreenMan Video Productions will be pleased to work with the Ontario Contact 2010 performers to create a promotional video or to freshen an existing video. Pricing will depend upon the complexity of the project. Interested performers should contact us at info@greenmanvideo.com to determine project scope & pricing. Complex projects may take a while to produce. Contact us soon to avoid disappointment.

As in previous years, GreenMan Video Productions will be available to record performer showcases. Performers ordering both booth video and showcase recordings will receive a 15% discount on the price of their booth video.

 

Registering for Ontario Contact 2010

Ontario Contact is going to cottage country! In 2010 we will be hosted by the Town of Parry Sound.

It promises to be a great conference. Worried about travel? We have it under control. Volunteers will pick you up at either Pearson or Sudbury airports. We will take the worry out of your travel.

Early Bird Registration Deadline will be Sept. 15th. Registration forms will open July 1.

 

Showcasing Artists

Those selected to showcase at Ontario Contact may wish to take advantage of the following opportunity.

GreenMan Video Production offer:

You may order Edited or Unedited versions of your showcase performance. All showcase recordings will feature digital audio and broadcast quality standard definition video, shot with two cameras.

Edited version will be delivered on a standard definition DVD in  paper sleeve in the weeks following Ontario Contact 2009. We would be happy to incorporate the performer's logo, trade dress, contact information, etc into the DVD menu and label. The DVD could serve as a standalone promotional tool or be a part of your portfolio. Additional copies of the DVD will be available on request. Additional charges would apply. Volume discounts are available.

Unedited recording of the showcase performance will be delivered by Canada Post on standard definition miniDV tapes within 24 hours of the performance.

Charges for these services depend upon the length of your showcase:

Short Performance (15-20 mins)

  Unedited recording delivered on tape: $140 + PST & GST

  Edited recording delivered on DVD: $500 + PST & GST

Long Performance (30 mins)

  Unedited recording delivered on tape: $190 + PST & GST

  Edited recording delivered on DVD: $750 + PST & GST

 

We'd be happy to arrange other delivery formats. Some additional time & charges may be required.
