Centre of operations for Ontario Contact in 2010 will be at the lovely Charles W. Stockey Centre for the Performing Arts & Bobby Orr Hall of Fame.
The Centre was built for the Festival of Sound. Wonderful acoustics and a beautiful venue. The Performance Hall hs 480 stas and features three levels. The building was designed to have the appearance and atmosphere of a Georgian Bay cottage. Granite and pine beams from the indigenous trees add a special intimacy to the interior of the hall.
The building features heavy timber framing, the timber trusses and wood decking are an essential acoustical requirement - providing both the slightly textured surfaces for good sound reflection, and a visually warm appearance much favoured by artists and audiences.
